Set up the sections and POS DNA products that describe the point-of-sale placements at your locations.
New to POS DNA? Start with What is POS DNA?
Step 1. Create a section
Navigate to "Marketing Shop" and select "POS DNA".
Click "New section".
Enter a name, for example "Posters".
Click "Create".
Step 2. Create a POS DNA product
Click "New product".
Enter a name, for example "Poster Shop Window".
Select the section it belongs to.
Click "Create". The POS DNA product will open so you can configure it.
Step 3. Configure the details
On the "Information" tab, fill in the following fields:
Name and Description: The name of the placement, plus an optional explanation. Users see the description as a short line below the name.
Status: Set the POS DNA product to "Active" to make it available to locations.
Type: Determines how the location answers. See the types below.
Quantity: The location enters a number, for example 10 poster spots. Use "Max quantity" to set an upper limit, or leave it empty to allow any number.
Yes/No: The location chooses "Yes" or "No", for example to indicate whether it has a shop window.
Select: The location chooses from fixed options that you define. Enter each option in the "Options" field, for example 1, 3 and 5. This field is required for this type.
Tip: Use "Select" instead of "Quantity" when only a few fixed numbers make sense, for example 1, 3 or 5 poster frames.
Step 4. Add sizes (optional)
If a placement comes in different dimensions, you can add sizes. The location then chooses which size applies.
Turn on "Enable size selection".
Click "New size".
Enter a name, plus the width and height in millimeters.
Click "Confirm". Repeat this for each size.
Tip: Give sizes clear names, such as "A1" or "300 × 400 mm", so locations can easily choose the right one. Only add sizes when a placement really comes in different dimensions.
Step 5. Set thumbnails
The thumbnail is the image locations see next to the POS DNA product.
Keep "Use product thumbnails" turned on to use the thumbnails of the connected products.
Turn it off to upload your own image instead, by dragging a file into the upload area or clicking "Browse files".
Step 6. Set permissions
Under "Permissions", choose which groups or locations can access this POS DNA product. Move them from the "Available" list to the "Authorized" list using the arrows.
Note: If you don't authorize any groups or locations, the POS DNA product is visible to everyone.
Click "Save" to save your changes.
Next step: Connect the matching Marketing Shop products to your POS DNA products. Once that's done, your locations can fill in their POS DNA.
