How do I configure Single Sign-On (SSO) in my Microsoft environment for Marvia?

Learn which SAML details are needed to connect Microsoft Entra ID to Marvia.

Written by Justin Verhoeve

Marvia supports Single Sign-On (SSO) through SAML 2.0. To connect your Microsoft environment with Marvia, you configure SSO in Microsoft Entra ID and share the required SAML details with our team. This article explains what information you receive from Marvia, how to set it up in Microsoft, and what details you need to provide back to us.

Information provided by Marvia

While setting up Single Sign-On, Marvia will share the following SAML configuration details. Replace {your-portal-domain} with your Marvia portal host, for example acme.getmarvia.com.

  • Identifier (Entity ID)
    https://{your-portal-domain}/saml/metadata

  • Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)
    https://{your-portal-domain}/saml/acs

  • Sign on URL
    https://{your-portal-domain}/login

How to configure SSO in your Microsoft environment

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, create an Enterprise Application for Marvia, set up SAML-based single sign-on with the details above, and assign the users or groups that should be able to sign in. For general background, see the official Microsoft instructions.

Step-by-step guide: For detailed instructions, including the user claims and optional groups and locations, see how to set up SSO with Microsoft Entra ID. Using another identity provider? See the guides for Google Workspace and Okta.

Information we need from you

After setting up the SSO configuration in your Microsoft environment, please send your Marvia support representative the following values from the SAML Certificates and Set up Marvia sections of your application:

  • Microsoft Entra Identifier (Entity ID)

  • Login URL (Single Sign-On service URL)

  • Certificate (Base64): open the downloaded file in a text editor and copy the full text, including the -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE----- lines.

  • Logout URL (optional, if you use single logout)

Once we have saved these on our side, users can sign in with the SSO button on your Marvia login page.
