How do I use the Locations module in Product Settings?

What is the purpose of the Locations module?

The Locations module enables you to control how many locations a user can associate with a product during ordering or customization.

When should you use it?

This module is most relevant for template products where the final output is based on localised data such as:

  • Store address

  • Contact information

  • Location specific images

  • Other location based variables used in the template

By selecting locations, the system knows which set of data to use when generating the creative output.

Which fields are available in the Locations module?

Maximum locations

This is the primary configuration field in the module.

Field

Purpose

Options

Maximum locations

Defines the maximum number of individual locations a user can associate with a single order or product customization.

The dropdown menu offers preset numerical limits up to 25 and the option "None".

"None" Setting

When "None" is selected, it implies no limit is enforced, allowing the user to select as many connected locations as necessary for their order.

What does “None” mean?

Selecting None means there is no limit.
The user can select as many locations as needed for the product.

How do I configure the Locations module?

  1. Open the product and navigate to the Locations module in the Modules list.

  2. Select the Maximum locations dropdown menu.

  3. Choose a limit:

    • Select a number to restrict the user, for example 1 for a single location or 5 for multiple selections.

    • Select None if the product should allow unlimited location selection.

  4. Select Save to apply the configuration.

Tips for successful setup

  • Use a limit of 1 for products such as business cards or store specific posters.

  • Allow multiple locations when generating materials that represent several stores at once, such as regional flyers.

  • Only enable this module for products that use location based variables in the template.

  • Review the template’s DNA variables to ensure they align with the selected maximum location settings.
