How do I setup metadata for the DAM

Access the metadata settings

  1. Log in to your Marvia admin account.

  2. Navigate to the DAM settings.

  3. Select "Meta data" to open the configuration area.

  4. Review the sections where you can define metadata fields and tag configurations.

Note: These settings are only available for users with admin Permissions.

Create metadata tags and categories

Marvia allows you to group metadata tags into logical categories so your setup stays structured and easy to scale.

  1. Navigate to "Meta tags" in the settings.

  2. Click "Add tag" to create new tags such as Campaign, Photographer, or Product type.

  3. Organize tags into categories like Usage, Creative, or Technical.

Caution: Use clear names so all users understand how to apply each tag.

Define metadata for assets

Once your tags and categories are created, you can assign metadata to assets.

  1. Upload a new asset or open an existing asset in the DAM.

  2. Navigate to the "Metadata" tab.

  3. Assign values to the available metadata fields, for example:

    • Select the campaign name

    • Add the creator or owner

    • Set an expiration date

⚠️ Important: Metadata values improve search and filtering. Complete fields as consistently as possible.
