How do I set up a product with variants?

To create a product with variants, you must select the correct product preset during creation. This preset enables the Variants module.

  1. Navigate to the Products overview in the admin portal.

  2. Click "New product".

  3. Enter the basic product details:

    1. Enter the product name, for example "Viamar T-shirt".

    2. Select the default supplier, for example "Orderpicker".

  4. Click the "Product preset" dropdown.

  5. Select "Product with multiple options (e.g. colors, sizes) and limited modules".

  6. Click "Create".

⚠️ Important: This step is required. If you select a different preset, you cannot use the Variants module for this product.

 

What happens after creation?

After creating the product with the correct preset, the Variants tab becomes available in the product menu. You can then add options like size or color and start generating variants.

Note: At this stage, only the product structure is created. Variants are configured in a separate step.
