How do I add permissions to a package?
You can control who can access a package by adding Permissions. This article shows you how to authorise groups or locations so the right users see the right campaign materials.
Step 1: Navigating to Permissions
- Navigate to "Packages" in your Marvia portal.
- Select the package you want to configure, for example Autumn Season Campaign.
- Click "Permissions" in the left menu.
- The Permissions screen opens, where you can authorise specific users through groups or locations.
Step 2: Selecting the Authorization Type
Before assigning access, choose whether to authorize by Groups or Locations.
| Authorization Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Groups | Grants access based on predefined user groups (e.g., “Netherlands” or “External Users”). This is the most efficient way to manage access for larger sets of users. |
| Locations | Grants access based on specific physical or organizational locations available in your Marvia database. |
💡 Tip: Use Groups for general campaign permissions and Locations when access depends on geographic or store-based segmentation.
Step 3: Assigning Groups or Locations
The Permissions screen shows two lists. One list contains available groups or locations, and the other list contains the authorised ones.
Available groups or locations
-
Shows all groups or locations that are not yet authorised
-
Use the search bar to quickly find a specific item
-
Select the checkbox next to the group or location you want to authorise
Authorised groups or locations
-
Shows all groups or locations that currently have access
-
After selecting an item, move it to the authorised list using the arrows or move action
-
To remove access, move the item back to the available list
Note: If the Authorized column shows “No data,” it means no groups or locations currently have permission to access the package.
Step 4. Confirm your Permissions
-
Review the authorised list to confirm it contains the correct groups or locations.
-
Click "Save" if required.
Your package is now restricted to the selected audiences. This helps ensure that campaign materials are shared with the intended users.
