How do I add permissions to a package?
Step 1: Navigating to Permissions
-
Go to the Packages section in your Marvia portal.
-
Select the package you want to configure (e.g., “Autumn Season Campaign”).
-
In the left sidebar, click Permissions.
The main panel will open the Permissions section, where you can authorize specific users and/or locations to access the package.
Step 2: Selecting the Authorization Type
Before assigning access, choose whether to authorize by Groups or Locations.
| Authorization Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Groups | Grants access based on predefined user groups (e.g., “Netherlands” or “External Users”). This is the most efficient way to manage access for larger sets of users. |
| Locations | Grants access based on specific physical or organizational locations available in your Marvia database. |
💡 Tip: Use Groups for general campaign permissions and Locations when access depends on geographic or store-based segmentation.
Step 3: Assigning Groups or Locations
The Permissions screen uses a two-column layout — one for available options and one for authorized ones.
Available Groups/Locations
-
This column lists all user groups or locations that are not yet authorized.
-
Use the Search bar above the list to quickly find a specific entry.
-
Select the checkbox next to the group or location name (e.g., “Netherlands,” “Luxemburg,” “Test group”) you want to authorize.
Authorized Groups/Locations
-
Displays all entries that currently have access to the package.
-
Once selected in the available list, use the arrows (or the system’s move logic) to transfer them to the authorized list.
-
To remove access, uncheck the box or move the group/location back to the available column.
📝 No Data Message:
If the Authorized column shows “No data,” it means no groups or locations currently have permission to access the package.
Step 4: Confirming Your Permissions
After assigning the appropriate groups or locations:
-
Review the Authorized column to confirm accuracy.
-
Click Save (if required) to finalize the permissions.
Your package is now restricted to the selected audiences, ensuring that campaign materials are securely and intentionally distributed.
